In a statement, General Saree confirmed that Yemen's missile and drone forces carried out a joint operation involving two cruise missiles and four drones, hitting the aircraft carrier. This military action took place amid heightened tensions, with the United States reportedly preparing for a major airstrike on Yemen.

“The military operation against the U.S. aircraft carrier was carried out while the U.S. was preparing for a major air attack against Yemen, which, by the grace of God, led to failure,” General Saree stated.

Prior to the attack, Yemen's Ansarullah movement had issued repeated warnings about the ongoing presence of the USS Harry Truman in the region. Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, a senior official in the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, criticized the U.S. for militarizing the Red Sea. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), al-Houthi called for the carrier to return to the U.S. coast, labeling its presence as "illegitimate" and an "uncalculated move."

The strike marks an escalation in the ongoing conflict, with both sides continuing to challenge each other’s presence and actions in the region. (ILKHA)
