The incident comes amid escalating tensions in the region following Israel's genocidal aggression in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, in response to the Hamas-led operation from Gaza.

The attack occurred in the Palestinian village of Al-Funduq, located along a critical east-west route frequently used by settlers and Israeli military forces. Local sources report that the area has seen increased resistance activities as Palestinians confront ongoing Israeli occupation and settlement expansion in violation of international law.

Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service confirmed the deaths of two women in their 60s and a man in his 40s. The Israeli military announced it is conducting a manhunt for the perpetrators.

This incident highlights the growing resistance to Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories. The West Bank has witnessed a sharp rise in violence, including settler attacks on Palestinian communities, home demolitions, and military raids, further inflaming an already volatile situation.

Palestinian groups have framed such actions as part of their broader struggle for liberation against Israel’s occupation and systematic oppression, which continues to displace and marginalize Palestinian communities.

The situation remains tense as calls for justice and an end to the occupation grow louder from Palestinians and international human rights organizations. (ILKHA)
