Turkish and Ukrainian foreign ministers discuss regional security and cooperation
Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha engaged in a crucial phone conversation to address pressing regional developments, including the situations in Ukraine, Syria, and the Black Sea, along with enhancing bilateral cooperation.
A senior Turkish Foreign Ministry official revealed that the exchange between the two ministers focused on Ukraine’s battlefield dynamics and regional security challenges. Both ministers underscored the importance of continuous collaboration to tackle these issues effectively.
Foreign Minister Fidan and his Ukrainian counterpart Sybiha, who held a joint press conference in Ankara on October 21, 2024, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and fostering coordinated efforts.
Minister Sybiha commented on the discussion, stating, “During today’s call with my colleague and friend Hakan Fidan, we discussed our bilateral agenda, the situation on the battlefield, security in the Black Sea, the situation in Syria, and the Middle East. We agreed on coordinated efforts to further strengthen our strategic partnership.”
