Yemeni forces down second US drone in 72 hours
The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) have successfully downed a second American MQ-9 drone in 72 hours, according to a statement released by YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree on Wednesday.
The drone was shot down over the province of Marib using a locally-made surface-to-air missile while conducting hostile missions. This marks the 14th US drone downed by Yemeni forces since the launch of the support front for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.
General Saree emphasized that this operation serves as a response to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and the recent American-British military strikes against Yemen. He reiterated the Yemeni Armed Forces' commitment to confronting all threats to Yemen's sovereignty and their unwavering support for the Palestinian resistance.
Last Saturday, the YAF successfully targeted an American MQ-9 drone with a hypersonic ballistic missile of the Palestine 2 type, striking Nevatim air base in southern occupied Palestine. (ILKHA)
