At least 71 killed in two separate road accidents in Pakistan
Two separate road accidents in Pakistan on Monday resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 71 people.
In the first incident, a passenger bus overturned on a highway in Punjab province, resulting in the deaths of 10 passengers. Seven others sustained injuries.
Separately, eight people were killed when a passenger van collided with a truck in Naushahro Feroze district in Sindh province.
Police authorities in both incidents attributed the accidents to driver negligence.
Road accidents are a significant public safety concern in Pakistan, often attributed to factors such as poor road conditions, reckless driving, and inadequate safety measures.
Last month, 18 people lost their lives when a passenger bus carrying wedding guests plunged into the Indus River in northern Pakistan. (ILKHA)
