The infant, Ali Al-Batran, who was one month old, passed away this morning. He was the twin of Juma Al-Batran, who died yesterday under similar conditions in a tent in Deir Al-Balah, in the middle of the Strip. This marks the sixth infant fatality from the cold in a week.

A few days ago, four newborn children, aged between 4 and 21 days, also succumbed to the severe cold. The lack of food security among mothers has led to new cases of illness among children, exacerbating the already dire health situation in the region.

Muhammad Abu Afash, Director of Medical Relief in Gaza and North Gaza, stated that children are dying daily due to the severe cold and the lack of basic necessities such as food, drink, and baby milk. He highlighted the absence of tents, blankets, clothes, and food for children, warning of the danger of entire families freezing to death inside the tents.

For the 451st consecutive day, occupation forces continue to launch raids, artillery shelling, and commit crimes in various parts of the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a catastrophic humanitarian situation, with more than 90% of the population displaced.

Thousands of slain Palestinians and wounded remain under the rubble due to continued shelling and dangerous field conditions. The siege has also imposed strict restrictions on the entry of fuel and urgent vital aid, further worsening the humanitarian crisis. (ILKHA)
