Türkiye’s Economic Confidence Index Rises to 98.8 in December
Türkiye's economic confidence index showed an upward trend in December, increasing by 1.8% to reach 98.8, up from 97.1 in November, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
The data revealed varying levels of confidence across different sectors of the economy.
Consumer confidence experienced a notable rise of 1.9%, bringing the index to 81.3. Meanwhile, the real sector, representing the manufacturing industry, saw a slight decline of 0.7%, with its index falling to 102.7.
The services sector demonstrated strong growth, with its confidence index increasing by 2.4% to reach 113.6. Similarly, the retail trade sector showed improvement, with a 1.2% rise, pushing its index to 113.0.
The construction sector, despite ongoing challenges, recorded a 1.9% increase in confidence, resulting in an index value of 89.4.
This overall increase in the economic confidence index reflects a positive shift in sentiment across most sectors, signaling cautious optimism about Türkiye's economic prospects as the year ends. (ILKHA)
