Protesters in Istanbul rally against Israeli genocide in Gaza
A solidarity march was held in Istanbul, organized by the Gaza Solidarity Platform, to protest against the ongoing Israeli genocide in Palestinian territories.
The march began at Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque and proceeded to the Israeli consulate in Istanbul.
The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Muhammad Emin, followed by speeches highlighting the plight of Palestinians and calling for international support against the occupation.
Osama Özdemir, in his opening remarks, referenced the ongoing violence in Gaza, stating, “It has been exactly 450 days after the Glorious Aqsa Flood. The Zionist gang, which was crushed by Al Qassam Brigades, is attacking hospitals and mosques to hide its humiliation.” He condemned the recent attack on Kemal Advan Hospital and emphasized the need for sustained resistance. Özdemir also urged Muslims to unite in the struggle, stating: “It is the duty of Muslims to wipe out the West and its supporters from the face of the earth.”
Kubilay Aşkın Durdağ reiterated the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the targeting of women and children in the conflict. “Greetings from Istanbul to the Kassam Brigades, who fight without collapsing to defend the honor of not only Gaza but all humanity,” he said, condemning the continued violence in Gaza and expressing solidarity with Palestinian resistance groups.
Durdağ highlighted the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, noting that tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed, many of them women and children. He described the worsening situation due to winter conditions, with families taking shelter in tents and hospitals, some children freezing to death. “Urgent action must be taken against the genocide gang that deepens its occupation by targeting hospitals and health workers,” he stated.
The event concluded with hymns recited by Selim Özaydın and a prayer led by Osama Özdemir. Participants reiterated their commitment to supporting Gaza and opposing the occupation.
The march reflects ongoing international protests and calls for action in solidarity with Palestinians, as the situation in Gaza remains dire amid escalating Israeli aggression. (ILKHA)
