UNRWA: Over 14,500 Palestinian children killed in Gaza since last year
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported on Tuesday that at least 14,500 Palestinian children have lost their lives in the ongoing Israeli genocidal aggression in the Gaza Strip since last year.
In a powerful statement, UNRWA highlighted the staggering loss of life, noting: “One Palestinian child is killed every hour. These are not just numbers; these are lives cut short.”
The agency condemned the loss of innocent lives, stating there is no justification for the killing of children in Gaza. It emphasized that those who survive endure severe physical and psychological trauma, often left without family, homes, or hope for the future.
“Children in Gaza are scarred in unimaginable ways, living through relentless violence and witnessing the destruction of their dreams,” the statement added.
This announcement follows a similar report from last July, in which UNRWA described the daily tragedies faced by Gaza's children, underscoring their exposure to trauma and loss in a region where the humanitarian crisis has reached alarming levels.
UNRWA reiterated its call for urgent international action to protect civilians, particularly children, from the devastating impact of the ongoing aggression. (ILKHA)
