Türkiye expresses solidarity with Germany after Magdeburg attack
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement expressing sorrow and condemnation over the tragic attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, on Friday.
“We are deeply saddened by the incident at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, which, according to initial assessments, was a deliberate attack,” the ministry said.
Extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a swift recovery to the injured, the ministry underscored the importance of justice in the aftermath of the incident.
“We hope that this attack, which we strongly condemn, will be clarified as soon as possible and the possible perpetrators will be brought to justice. We stand by Germany on this painful day,” the statement concluded.
The attack, which killed two people and injured at least 60 others, occurred on Friday evening when a car plowed into the crowded market. Authorities are treating the incident as a deliberate act, and investigations are ongoing. (ILKHA)
