Secretary Blinken discusses Syrian developments with Turkish foreign minister
U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken held a phone call on Monday with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss recent developments in Syria, according to a statement from State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller.
During the conversation, Blinken underscored the importance of a peaceful, inclusive, Syrian-led transition process aligned with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
The Secretary stressed the importance of respecting human rights and adhering to international humanitarian law by all actors involved in Syria.
Additionally, Blinken extended condolences to Fidan for the Turkish soldiers who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash earlier Monday in Isparta, Türkiye.
This engagement reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to stabilize Syria and address broader security and humanitarian challenges in the region. (ILKHA)
