Israeli shelling on Nuseirat camp kills nine in Gaza
Nine people were killed and several others injured on Thursday following intense shelling by Israeli forces on Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, according to local reports.
Witnesses described the shelling as violent, with artillery targeting the new camp area in Nuseirat, causing widespread destruction. Medical teams rushed to the scene, but the number of casualties is expected to rise as rescue operations continue.
Medical sources reported that the death toll in Gaza has reached 44,282, with the majority of the victims being women and children, since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023. The number of injured has climbed to 104,880, while thousands remain trapped under rubble across the besieged territory.
Humanitarian Crisis Deepens
The ongoing violence has exacerbated Gaza's already dire humanitarian situation, with hospitals overwhelmed by casualties and critical shortages of medical supplies, water, and electricity. Aid organizations have repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted access for humanitarian assistance to address the crisis.
As the conflict enters another month, the international community continues to urge restraint and a resolution to prevent further loss of life and suffering in the region. (ILKHA)
