Turkish President Erdoğan meets EBRD President Renaud-Basso in Ankara
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on Tuesday at the presidential complex in Ankara.
The meeting focused on Türkiye’s economic reform agenda and the EBRD’s continued support for the country’s development initiatives. Following the discussions, Renaud-Basso shared her remarks on X (formerly Twitter), stating: "A pleasure to be in Türkiye again and to see Erdoğan in Ankara this evening. I reaffirmed the country's importance to EBRD and welcomed its reform ambitions, which we are ready to support. This includes its transition to a green economy."
The EBRD, established in 1991, plays a significant role in promoting economic development, particularly in post-Cold War Europe. The institution has been a key partner in fostering sustainable and inclusive growth across its member countries, including Türkiye.
Renaud-Basso's visit underscores the importance of Türkiye in the EBRD’s operations and its commitment to supporting the country's economic transformation and green energy transition. (ILKHA)
