“Iraq's total population has exceeded 45 million 407 thousand people,” al-Sudani said, noting that 70.3% of the population resides in urban areas, while 29.7% lives in rural regions.

This census, the first comprehensive survey since 1997, provides detailed insights into Iraq's demographic structure, including the Kurdistan Region.

The census data marks a pivotal step for Iraq, aiding in policy formulation, resource distribution, and development planning.
