Iraqi Resistance launches new drone attacks on Israeli targets
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Monday that it has conducted new drone operations targeting Israeli positions deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement, the umbrella group of Iraqi resistance factions confirmed striking an Israeli military site in the southern part of the occupied territories during the early hours of Monday. A second operation targeted a vital Israeli installation in the same region.
The attacks mark the second wave of drone operations launched by the group since Sunday.
In its statement, the group declared the strikes were carried out in retaliation for the Israeli killing of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, in Gaza and Lebanon. The resistance vowed to escalate its operations, promising intensified efforts against Israel.
Since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has claimed responsibility for multiple strikes on Israeli positions, framing them as a response to what they describe as a "genocidal war" against the Palestinian population.
The group has also previously targeted US military facilities in Iraq and Syria, citing Washington's unwavering support for Israel as a motivating factor for its actions. (ILKHA)
