Speaking at the ‘Communication and the Search for Trust in the Islamic World’ forum hosted by Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University (GİBTÜ), Al-Qaradaghi emphasized the critical role that Islamic scholars must play in mobilizing the Ummah and themselves to end the genocide.

In his statement to ILKHA, Al-Qaradaghi highlighted that Muslim scholars bear a greater responsibility than the general populace. He stressed the need for scholars to set an example in all aspects, including resistance, sacrifice, generosity, and demonstrations. “They should be an example in resistance, an example in sacrifice, an example in generosity, an example in demonstrations and an example in everything. Because this is the legacy of the Prophets,” he stated.

Al-Qaradaghi pointed out that the World Union of Muslim Scholars has presented nine projects and proposals aimed at the Islamic Ummah to address the crisis in Gaza. However, he lamented that these initiatives have not yet received a response from the Ummah. “God willing, he will answer one day,” he expressed his hope for future action.

Emphasizing the historical and religious duty of Muslim scholars, Al-Qaradaghi called for a united effort to mobilize and lead by example. He underscored that the legacy of the Prophets demands proactive and exemplary actions from scholars to inspire and guide the Ummah during times of crisis.

As violence continues to escalate in Gaza, the call to action from prominent leaders like Al-Qaradaghi serves as a reminder of the significant influence and responsibility of Muslim scholars in shaping the response of the Islamic world to such humanitarian crises. (ILKHA)
