Turkish intelligence neutralizes top PKK leader in northern Iraq
Turkish intelligence has successfully neutralized Serhat Tagar, a high-ranking member of the PKK terrorist organization, in a targeted operation in northern Iraq's Gara region.
Tagar, also known by his codename Mervan Hizan, had been actively involved in the PKK's terrorist activities since 2014. He received extensive training in Gara and participated in numerous attacks against Turkish security forces in the Zap region.
The neutralized terrorist was responsible for the transfer of weapons, ammunition, and explosives used in these attacks. He also served as a personal bodyguard to senior PKK leaders.
The Turkish government's use of the term "neutralize" typically implies that the individual was either killed, captured, or surrendered. (ILKHA)
