Israeli forces kill more than 17,000 children in Gaza since October 2023
The Gaza Strip’s authorities have reported that at least 17,492 children have died due to Israel’s genocidal aggression that began in early October 2023.
The fatalities include 211 newborns and 825 children under one year old. Additionally, over 35,000 minors have lost one or both parents, while approximately 3,500 children are suffering from malnutrition, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
The aggression has caused significant destruction in the Gaza Strip. Authorities report that 204 shelters for displaced persons have been targeted, nearly 130 educational institutions have been destroyed, and over 340 others have suffered substantial damage due to bombardments.
The destruction has left 750,000 schoolchildren unable to attend classes, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
The health ministry in Gaza estimates that the total death toll from the conflict has reached nearly 44,000 people, with over 104,000 individuals wounded.
The figures highlight the severe toll the Israeli aggression has taken on Gaza’s civilian population, particularly children, as the region grapples with the devastating consequences of prolonged military operations.
International calls for ceasefires and humanitarian assistance continue as the situation in Gaza remains dire. (ILKHA)
