Iraqi resistance targets Israeli base with drones in support of Gaza and Lebanon
The Islamic resistance in Iraq announced that it had conducted drone strikes on a key Israeli base in southern occupied Palestine early Tuesday.
The attacks were carried out in solidarity with the people of Gaza and Lebanon, who the group says are being victimized by Israeli aggression.
In a statement, the resistance group declared: “The drone attacks were conducted in support of the innocent people of Gaza and Lebanon being killed by the Israeli regime.” It added that the operations were also a response to what it described as “genocidal acts” by Israel in the region.
The group noted that it has targeted strategic Israeli bases in various parts of occupied Palestine in recent months. It reiterated its warning that continued Israeli attacks on Gaza would result in escalated anti-Zionist operations in occupied territories.
The ongoing war in Gaza, which began in October 2023, has resulted in the deaths of nearly 44,000 people, predominantly women and children, according to the resistance group. Meanwhile, the death toll in Lebanon has exceeded 3,400.
The strikes by the Iraqi resistance reflect growing regional tensions and highlight the expanding involvement of regional actors in the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (ILKHA)
