Chinese trader converts to Islam in Afghanistan’s Balkh province
A Chinese trader has embraced Islam after reciting the shahada (the Islamic declaration of faith) in the presence of Balkh province's leader.
Haji Zaid, spokesperson for the Balkh provincial government, confirmed that the trader, originally named Wang Fiki, has now adopted the Islamic name Abdullah Mohammad.
According to Zaid, Abdullah Mohammad has been involved in several construction projects with the Islamic Emirate, including the development of manufacturing factories in the region. His conversion took place during a meeting at the Balkh provincial office, where he publicly recited the shahada and officially embraced Islam.
The conversion of Abdullah Mohammad marks a notable moment of cultural and religious significance in the region. (ILKHA)
