Iraqi resistance group conducts drone strike on Eilat in occupied Palestine
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a drone strike on a key target in occupied Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) in southern occupied Palestine.
In a statement issued by the group’s military media, the operation was described as part of ongoing efforts to resist the occupation, support the people of Lebanon and Palestine, and respond to Israeli "crimes and massacres" against civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
The group emphasized its intent to escalate attacks against Israeli strongholds, with increasing intensity in the coming days. Footage of the operation was released, including a dedication to Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the former deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, who was killed alongside Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in a U.S. drone strike in 2020.
Shortly after the operation, air raid sirens sounded in Eilat, and the Israeli military reported a drone infiltration. During attempts to intercept the drone, one interceptor missile reportedly fell in the area, prompting an investigation.
On the preceding Saturday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq conducted seven drone attacks across occupied territories, targeting sites from the south to the north, as part of its campaign against Israeli positions. (ILKHA)
