Yellow vest protesters mark sixth anniversary with demonstrations across France
Demonstrators gathered in Paris and other cities across France on Sunday to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Yellow Vest movement.
Protesters voiced their dissatisfaction with President Emmanuel Macron’s policies and economic inequality.
In Paris, the protest began near the Palais Royal, where attendees carried French and Palestinian flags and banners with messages such as “Macron out” and “Six years, we are not tired.”
The Yellow Vest movement, which originated on November 17, 2018, as a response to proposed fuel price hikes, has since evolved into a broader challenge against economic inequality and government policies. The protests have drawn significant support over the years, despite police crackdowns that have resulted in 11 deaths among participants.
The movement remains a powerful symbol of resistance to Macron's administration, with demonstrators pledging to continue their fight for economic justice and democratic reform. (ILKHA)
