Turkish Armed Forces neutralize 8 PKK members in northern Iraq and Syria
The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that eight members of the PKK were neutralized during operations in the Olive Branch, Peace Spring, and Claw-Lock regions.
According to the ministry’s statement, four PKK/YPG members were identified and neutralized in the Olive Branch and Peace Spring regions, while an additional four others were neutralized in the Claw-Kilit Operation region.
The ministry emphasized its ongoing commitment to counterterrorism efforts, stating: “No passage for terrorism and terrorists anywhere! Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces continue to eliminate threats to our nation.”
These operations are part of Türkiye’s broader strategy to combat terrorism along its borders, ensuring regional stability and national security. The Turkish Armed Forces have intensified their efforts in these areas, targeting PKK/YPG elements deemed a threat to the country.
The Claw-Lock Operation is one of Türkiye's key counterterrorism campaigns aimed at securing border areas and disrupting PKK activities in northern Iraq, while the Olive Branch and Peace Spring regions are within northern Syria, where Türkiye has conducted cross-border operations to establish safe zones.
