Stabbing attack at Chinese college leaves 8 dead, 17 injured
A horrific stabbing attack took place at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing City on Saturday evening, resulting in the tragic deaths of eight individuals and injuries to 17 others.
Local authorities confirmed that the suspect, a recent graduate, was apprehended at the scene. The motive behind the attack, as stated by police, was a combination of factors including exam failure, lack of a graduation certificate, and dissatisfaction with internship compensation.
This incident marks the latest in a series of mass casualty events in China. In recent months, the country has witnessed a spate of attacks, including a deadly car crash in Zhuhai, a stabbing attack near a Beijing elementary school, a knife attack at a Shanghai supermarket, and a bus crash involving students in Tai'an.
As investigations into these incidents continue, concerns about public safety and mental health in China have heightened. (ILKHA)
