Local health authorities warn that the numbers may rise as emergency services struggle to reach casualties.

The ongoing Israeli offensive, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in 43,799 confirmed deaths and 103,601 injuries, with women and children making up the majority of the victims. Officials fear the actual toll could be significantly higher, as rescue efforts are hampered by the destruction and restrictions imposed on ambulance and civil defense teams.

Medical and emergency crews report that they are unable to access many victims due to blocked roads and continuous airstrikes. Bodies remain trapped under rubble or scattered across streets in the devastated enclave.

"The situation is catastrophic," said a local health official. "The inability to reach survivors or recover the deceased further exacerbates the immense suffering of the people in Gaza."

Despite repeated calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent genocide, Israel's military campaign continues unabated. The ICJ has also urged measures to alleviate the severe humanitarian crisis engulfing Gaza.

Global leaders and human rights organizations have condemned the attacks, describing them as violations of international law and humanitarian principles. However, diplomatic efforts to halt the violence and ensure the delivery of aid to Gaza remain stalled.

As the situation in Gaza deteriorates further, the international community faces mounting pressure to act decisively to stop the bloodshed and address the urgent humanitarian needs of millions trapped in the besieged territory. (ILKHA)
