Turkish industrial production declines in September
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Monday that industrial production decreased by 2.4% year-on-year in September.
A breakdown of the data shows that while the mining and quarrying sector experienced a 5.3% decline, the manufacturing sector contracted by 2.5%. On the other hand, the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector registered a 1.1% increase.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 1.6% in September 2024 compared to the previous month. The manufacturing sector contributed to this growth with a 1.8% increase, while mining and quarrying and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sectors experienced declines of 1.2% and 1.8%, respectively.
