The demonstration comes amid an intensifying humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where continuous airstrikes have placed an immense strain on hospitals and medical services, particularly at Kamal Adwan Hospital, which has been under siege and repeated attacks for over a month.

During the protest, French health sector workers lay on the ground, simulating the devastating scenes of violence currently experienced by Palestinians in Gaza. This act served to highlight the conditions faced by both the civilians under siege and the medical professionals working to save lives amidst constant bombings and resource shortages.

The conflict in Gaza, marked by indiscriminate aerial bombardments and shelling, has sparked global protests against the Israeli military campaign over the past year, with people worldwide raising their voices in solidarity. Demonstrators, including those in Paris, are calling for an end to attacks on civilian structures such as camps, UN-run schools, mosques, churches, hospitals, and temporary shelters.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the death toll in the region has reached 43,552, with 102,765 more injured since the onset of the conflict. The ministry reports daily strikes on civilian infrastructure, leaving many medical facilities, including Kamal Adwan Hospital, struggling to operate under extreme duress.

Sunday's protest in Paris is part of a larger, growing movement of global solidarity with Gaza, emphasizing the dire need for humanitarian intervention and an end to the violence that has deeply impacted the region's health services and the population they serve. (ILKHA)
