The meeting took place on Saturday, with the Sudanese minister leading an economic delegation on a visit to Iran. Earlier in the week, on Wednesday evening, Ibrahim Mohamed also held talks with his Iranian counterpart, Abdolnaser Hemmati.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the re-establishment of political relations between Iran and Sudan, anticipating that this new phase will enhance and diversify economic and trade ties.

Minister Ibrahim Mohamed highlighted Sudan's fertile land suitable for agricultural products such as oilseeds, sesame, peanuts, and livestock farming, as well as the country's rich underground resources. He emphasized the Sudanese government's and people's eagerness to strengthen economic relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic.

Sudan, covering an area of 1,886,000 square kilometers, has a population of 45 million, with over 97% being Muslims. (ILKHA)
