US and UK fighter jets launch fresh attacks on Yemen
The United States and the United Kingdom have carried out a series of airstrikes on targets in Yemen's Amran Governorate and the capital city of Sana'a.
The strikes follow a string of three bombings on Saturday night in southern and eastern Sana’a, further intensifying foreign military presence in the region. Yemenis have voiced their support for Palestine’s resistance against Israel since the conflict escalated in Gaza on October 7, with Israel responding to a surprise operation, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, launched by Palestinian groups in Gaza.
In solidarity with Palestine, Yemen’s Armed Forces have vowed to continue their retaliatory strikes until Israel’s aggressive operations in Gaza cease. The conflict in Gaza has so far resulted in at least 27,948 Palestinian deaths and 67,459 injuries.
In December, the United States and Britain announced a coalition aimed at targeting Yemen in an effort to support Israel in the ongoing regional conflict. The coalition underscores the broader involvement of international powers in the region, heightening concerns over further escalation in Yemen and beyond. (ILKHA)
