Magnitude 5.0 earthquake strikes eastern Türkiye’s Elazığ province
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Türkiye’s eastern province of Elazığ on Friday, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
The quake, which occurred at 5:04 p.m. Turkish Standard Time (TSI), had an epicenter located at a latitude of 38.61944°N and a longitude of 39.68667°E, with a depth of 16.22 kilometers.
As of now, there have been no immediate reports of damages or casualties following the tremor. Local authorities are monitoring the situation, and emergency response teams remain on standby.
