Erdoğan and Macron meet to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and French President Emmanuel Macron met on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit in Hungary to discuss Türkiye-France relations and various regional and global issues.
President Erdoğan emphasized the deep-rooted history between Türkiye and France, highlighting the potential benefits of deepening their commercial and economic relations. He reiterated Türkiye's strategic approach to achieving full membership in the European Union, stressing the need to revive the process and fulfill promises regarding the update of the Customs Union and visa liberalization.
Erdoğan also underscored the importance of resolving international tensions, such as those between Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Palestine, and Israel and Lebanon, through peaceful diplomacy. (ILKHA)
