Azerbaijan and Iran conduct joint naval drills in Caspian Sea
Azerbaijan and Iran have successfully conducted joint naval drills, codenamed AZIREX-2024, in the Caspian Sea.
The exercises, aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two nations, took place in Iranian territorial waters.
The drills focused on enhancing maritime capabilities, including search and rescue operations, medical assistance, and ship safety measures. Over 100 Azerbaijani naval personnel participated in the exercises, utilizing two naval vessels.
Both countries view the Caspian Sea as a vital strategic waterway and have been actively cooperating on maritime security and economic development initiatives. (ILKHA)
