HÜDA PAR calls for immediate release of protesters detained at Haydarpaşa Port
HÜDA PAR’s Human Rights and Legal Affairs Presidency has called for the immediate release of 16 young protesters detained while demonstrating against the docking of the Kathrin ship at Haydarpaşa Port.
The vessel, reportedly involved in delivering ammunition to Israel, sparked controversy and protests upon its arrival in Istanbul.
In a statement, HÜDA PAR condemned the docking of the Kathrin and criticized the detentions, emphasizing that the protesters acted within humanitarian, conscientious, and legal grounds, committing no criminal offense. The party underscored that the Kathrin, which they claim supports the "Zionist genocidal regime," should not be permitted to enter Turkish ports, especially given Türkiye’s stance on ending trade with Israel.
“It is never acceptable for a ship providing logistical support to Israeli terrorist regime to dock freely at our ports,” the statement read. “Our people will not accept such commercial ships, especially when they are not welcomed in other countries' ports.”
HUDA PAR further stated that they are closely monitoring the legal process and called for the “unlawful” detentions to end swiftly. The party’s legal team is reportedly working on securing the immediate release of those detained. (ILKHA)
