Israeli forces kidnap 16 Palestinians in West Bank raids
Israeli occupation forces have kidnaped at least 16 Palestinians from the West Bank since last night, including a child and former prisoners, according to prisoner advocacy organizations.
The Palestinian Authority’s Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees and the Prisoners' Society reported in a joint statement that the detentions occurred in the provinces of Ramallah, Nablus, Tubas, Salfit, and Hebron.
In addition to the detentions, Israeli forces carried out a large-scale incursion into the al-Fawwar camp south of Hebron, conducting field interrogations of dozens of citizens who were later released. The incursion also resulted in damage and vandalism to homes.
The statement highlighted that since the start of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in October 2023, a total of 11,500 Palestinians have been detained by the occupation authorities from the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The ongoing detention campaigns are characterized by unprecedented levels of mistreatment and torture of detainees and their families, affecting not only the young but also the sick, injured, and elderly.
The Israeli aggression continues to escalate, drawing international attention to the humanitarian and political crisis in the region. (ILKHA)
