Sudan: RSF attacks kill 18 in north Darfur
At least 18 people were killed and five injured in two separate attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Darfur State on Saturday.
The Sudanese Doctors Network reported that 15 individuals lost their lives and five were wounded in an RSF assault on the Bardik area and neighboring villages. In a separate incident, three people were killed in an artillery attack on Saudi Hospital in El Fasher, the state capital.
The ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF, which erupted in mid-April 2023, has had devastating consequences for Sudan. The city of El Fasher, with its large population of internally displaced persons, has been particularly hard-hit.
International organizations estimate that the conflict has claimed over 24,850 lives and displaced millions of people. (ILKHA)
