Türkiye's service producer price index rises by 56.85% annually in September
The Turkish Statistical Institute reported that the Services Producer Price Index (S-PPI) saw a notable annual increase of 56.85% in September 2024.
The index also experienced a 1.14% monthly rise, reflecting significant upward trends in producer prices across various service sectors. Since December of the previous year, the S-PPI has risen by 48.91%, and over the past twelve months, the average increase has been 74.23%.
Transportation and storage services saw a 52.75% annual increase, while accommodation and food services rose by 61.14%. Information and communication services experienced a 62.38% annual increase, and real estate services went up by 55.78%. Professional, scientific, and technical services increased by 62.37%, and administrative and support services rose by 57.17%.
On a monthly basis, transportation and storage services saw a 1.79% increase. Accommodation and food services, however, decreased by 1.07%. Information and communication services saw a monthly increase of 3.13%, while real estate services experienced a 1.58% decrease. Professional, scientific, and technical services rose by 4.03%, whereas administrative and support services decreased by 0.67%.
These figures indicate ongoing economic pressures and changes within Turkey's service industry, highlighting the dynamic nature of the market. (ILKHA)
