Gaza genocide: 10 civilians killed in Israeli airstrike on Beit Lahia
At least ten Palestinians were killed, and scores injured in an Israeli airstrike on the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahia on Tuesday evening, local sources report.
The attack targeted three residential homes, resulting in extensive casualties among civilians as Gaza’s healthcare system faces total collapse amid escalating violence.
This latest strike is part of a larger Israeli genocidal aggression across Gaza, which has intensified since October 7. According to Palestinian health officials, at least 43,061 Palestinians have been killed, and over 101,223 injured during this period. Reports indicate that over 10,000 individuals remain missing, feared to be trapped or deceased under the debris of destroyed buildings throughout the Strip.
The humanitarian crisis has deepened, as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a legally binding order for Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza’s Rafah region. The ICJ cautioned that the ongoing offensive could violate international law, particularly Israel's obligations under the Genocide Convention. Despite these warnings, airstrikes continue, leading to widespread destruction and the forced displacement of nearly two million Palestinians across Gaza, with most seeking refuge in southern areas near Rafah, close to the Egyptian border.
The scale of displacement marks the largest Palestinian exodus since the 1948 Nakba. Human rights organizations warn of dire conditions, noting that a significant portion of those killed and injured are women and children.
Local and international leaders continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian intervention to address the escalating toll on civilians and prevent further violations of international law. (ILKHA)
