The fatalities reportedly resulted from an explosion within a building occupied by Israeli troops.

The slain soldiers were identified as Captain Yehonatan Keren, 22, from Moledet; Staff Sergeant Nisim Meytal, 20, from Khodeira; Staff Sergeant Aviv Gilboa, 21, from Neve Tzuf; and Staff Sergeant Naor Haimov, 22, from Rosh Ha'ayin. They were all members of the elite Multidomain Unit, or "Ghost" Unit, specialized in multi-operational warfare.

The announcement marks one of several recent disclosures about military casualties. Earlier in October, Israel’s Ministry of Security reported the loss of 890 personnel since the launch of Operation al-Aqsa Flood on October 7 last year, comprising 835 male and 55 female soldiers, including six brigade commanders.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon reported further Israeli losses, with over 70 troops dead, 600 wounded, and several tanks and drones downed since Israel's ground operations in Lebanon began. Lebanese resistance forces claimed responsibility for ambushes, tank strikes, and direct confrontations resulting in Israeli casualties.

The Israeli military has also struggled with re-enlistment. Over 50,000 non-active soldiers were called to duty, but Israel Hayom reported difficulties in locating and re-enlisting these individuals; only 17,000 were reached, with 4,000 agreeing to return to service.

These developments reflect the escalating and high-stakes nature of the conflict, with heavy losses and logistical strains challenging the Israeli forces' capacity in the ongoing regional conflict. (ILKHA)
