Hezbollah drone attack prompts Israeli government to hold secret cabinet meetings

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced on Monday that cabinet meetings will now be held at undisclosed times and places. Today’s session is confirmed to be conducted underground, exclusively with cabinet ministers present, and without advisors.

According to the Israeli Walla news site, today’s meeting will be held in the basement of the Genery building in occupied al-Quds, which houses multiple government offices. The choice of location was intended to remain classified, but the Israeli Cabinet Secretariat inadvertently disclosed it on an official website, which government sources called “a mistake.”

This relocation from the traditional venues, such as the Prime Minister’s Office and the Israeli Occupation Forces headquarters in Tel Aviv, follows the October 22nd incident in which Hezbollah launched a drone that struck Netanyahu’s bedroom window in his private residence in Caesarea. Hezbollah’s Media Relations Officer, Mohammad Afif, later confirmed the attack, issuing a warning to Netanyahu: “The eyes of the Resistance's fighters are watching and their ears are listening.”

Under public and media pressure, Israeli officials confirmed the drone attack, breaking longstanding censorship and acknowledging the precise targeting. This unprecedented shift in cabinet security protocol underscores growing tensions amid escalating security challenges faced by Israeli leadership. (ILKHA)
