The disclosure, made under strict media censorship, represents one of the most substantial acknowledgments of personnel losses in recent conflicts, as officials attempt to maintain restrictions on casualty reporting.

Among the 890 confirmed fatalities, 835 were male soldiers and 55 were female soldiers. Additionally, the death toll includes six brigade commanders with the rank of colonel, three of whom were killed on October 7, the first day of the operation. The ministry also reported the deaths of 240 reservists and 217 other soldiers across various regions.

The latest report does not include the recent deaths of at least 10 Israeli soldiers at the Lebanese border, where hostilities have intensified. The Israeli military further admitted today that five additional soldiers were killed in overnight clashes with forces in South Lebanon. An official Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that two officers and three soldiers, all part of Brigade 89 in the 8th Armored Division, died in the battles. Among the fallen was the deputy commander of the 89th Brigade. (ILKHA)
