Gaza death toll reaches 42,847 as Israeli attacks intensify
The death toll in Gaza has surged to 42,847 as Israeli forces continue their military operations in the besieged enclave, Palestinian health authorities reported on Thursday.
Medical officials confirmed that at least 55 Palestinians were killed, and 142 others were injured in the past 24 hours as Israeli occupation forces carried out seven massacres against families across the Gaza Strip. The ongoing attacks have primarily claimed the lives of women and children.
Since the escalation began on October 7, Gaza has witnessed a devastating toll, with over 100,544 people reported injured. Local authorities have highlighted the inability of emergency services to reach many of the victims trapped under rubble or scattered across streets due to the relentless bombardment and restrictions imposed on ambulance and civil defense crews by Israeli forces.
Rescue operations remain critically hampered as the conflict shows no signs of abating, adding to the mounting humanitarian crisis in the region.
The international community continues to call for ceasefires and humanitarian assistance to the affected areas, but Israeli military actions persist in the face of growing global condemnation. (ILKHA)
