Three Lebanese soldiers killed in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon
Three Lebanese soldiers were killed during an Israeli airstrike in the town of Yater, located in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, on Thursday.
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) confirmed that the soldiers, including an officer, were killed while carrying out an evacuation operation to rescue wounded civilians.
The airstrike was part of a broader Israeli offensive in southern Lebanon, with several villages in the Wadi Sour, Bint Jbeil, Qalawi, Aita al-Shaab, Ramyeh, and the outskirts of Toura and Yater being heavily bombarded by Israeli forces.
In addition to the soldiers, the NNA reported that a number of civilians were killed when Israeli forces targeted a house in Yater. The full extent of the casualties remains unclear.
Israeli air raids also devastated parts of the city of Tyre, where several buildings were completely destroyed. Rescue teams worked throughout the night to remove debris and reopen roads blocked by rubble, allowing access for pedestrians and emergency services.
The ongoing Israeli military actions in southern Lebanon have escalated tensions in the region, with both military and civilian casualties mounting as airstrikes continue. (ILKHA)
