Syrian soldier killed, seven injured in latest Israeli strikes
Israel launched a series of airstrikes on the Syrian capital, Damascus, early Thursday morning. The attacks targeted a residential building in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood, resulting in explosions that shook the city.
The Syrian Defense Ministry confirmed that one soldier was killed and seven others were injured in the strikes. Additionally, Israeli forces targeted a military site near the western city of Homs.
While Israel has not officially acknowledged the attacks, its military has carried out numerous strikes in Syria over the years, targeting Iranian and Hezbollah positions.
The recent escalation in tensions, particularly following the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023, has led to increased Israeli military activity in the region. (ILKHA)
