Explosion rocks Turkish aerospace industries headquarters in Ankara
An explosion struck the entrance gate of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) headquarters near Ankara on Wednesday, causing multiple casualties. Turkish authorities have labeled the incident a terrorist attack.
TUSAŞ, a key engine manufacturer for Turkey’s defense industry, was hit by a series of explosions followed by gunfire, according to live footage aired by IHA news agency. Police and emergency teams were quickly dispatched to the scene in Kahramankazan, Ankara.
Workers at the facility reportedly took shelter on-site as security forces responded to the attack. HaberTurk TV confirmed that employees were moved to safety amid the unfolding crisis.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that the explosion was an act of terrorism and indicated that there were casualties, though further details were not provided.
“A terrorist attack has been carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara,” Yerlikaya wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
