Iranian officials mourn the martyrdom of Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar
Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, extended condolences over the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, the late leader of the Hamas Resistance group.
General Ghaani met with Khaled Qaddoumi, the Hamas Representative in Tehran, on Wednesday morning to express his sympathies.
The mourning for Sinwar, who was killed in an Israeli attack in Rafah, Gaza, was also marked by a visit from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Hamas office in Tehran on Tuesday, where he offered his condolences.
Yahya Sinwar served as Hamas’ political leader and was a prominent figure in Gaza, having led the group for seven years. He had spent 22 years in an Israeli prison before being released in a prisoner exchange in 2011. (ILKHA)
