Missile strike hits US military base in northeastern Syria
A missile struck a US military base in Kharab al-Jir, located in northeastern Syria, early Tuesday, according to local sources.
The United States has not yet commented on the incident, and no group has claimed responsibility for the strike, the report indicated.
In a related development, US forces stationed at the Koniko Gas Field reportedly launched artillery strikes on the villages of Hawija Sakr and al-Jafra in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor Governorate.
The Syrian government has repeatedly accused US forces and allied militants operating in eastern and northeastern Syria of looting the country's oil reserves. Damascus has condemned their presence in these regions and vowed to remove them. (ILKHA)
