China conducts new military drills near Taiwan
Google News'te Doğruhaber'e abone olun.

The exercise, which was conducted in the waters off Niushan Island, is the latest in a series of drills aimed at intimidating Taiwan and asserting China's territorial claims.

The timing of the drills coincides with heightened tensions between China and Taiwan. Taiwanese President William Lai's recent speech, in which he reaffirmed Taiwan's sovereignty and rejected Chinese claims, has further inflamed Beijing.

The Chinese military has been increasingly active in the Taiwan Strait, conducting frequent air and sea patrols. These actions are seen as a deliberate attempt to erode Taiwan's defenses and normalize its presence in the region.

In response to China's aggressive moves, the United States and its allies have intensified their military activities in the region. US warships and those of its allies, including Canada, Germany, Australia, and Japan, have been conducting freedom of navigation operations in the Taiwan Strait.

The increasing frequency and intensity of military activities in the Taiwan Strait raise concerns about the potential for accidental escalation and a broader conflict. As both sides continue to flex their military muscle, the world watches with growing apprehension. (ILKHA)
