Israeli forces kidnap over 18 Palestinians in West Bank raids
Israeli occupation forces have kidnaped at least 18 Palestinians, including former prisoners, during a series of raids across the West Bank.
According to a joint statement from the Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the detentions occurred primarily in the town of Deir Abu Mash'al, north of Ramallah. Reports indicate that dozens of Palestinian youths were also subjected to field interrogations during these operations.
These raids have been marked by widespread assaults, threats against detainees and their families, and the destruction of homes. The statement emphasized that since the escalation of the ongoing offensive against the Palestinian people in October 2023, more than 11,400 detentions have been recorded in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Additionally, Israeli forces continue to detain civilians from Gaza, particularly from northern areas, targeting women, children, and medical staff, and committing acts of enforced disappearance.
The occupation authorities have been criticized for their lack of transparency, refusing to fully disclose the identities and locations of detainees, making it difficult for organizations to ascertain the total number of detentions in Gaza, which is estimated to be in the thousands. (ILKHA)
