The detentions took place in Hebron, Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin, Jericho, Jerusalem, and Salfit, where Israeli forces conducted widespread raids, according to a joint statement by the Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

These operations reportedly involved assaults, threats against detainees and their families, field interrogations, and the destruction of homes.

The statement also noted that since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli offensive in October 2023, more than 11,300 detentions have been documented in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

In addition, Israeli forces have continued to detain civilians from Gaza, particularly from the northern regions, including women, children, and medical staff. These actions, the statement claims, amount to enforced disappearances, with the Israeli authorities refusing to disclose the identities and locations of many detainees. Human rights organizations estimate that the number of detainees in Gaza could be in the thousands.

The systematic campaign of detentions has intensified, with escalating violence and human rights violations accompanying the arrests since the start of what the statement calls an ongoing "Israeli genocide" against Palestinians. (ILKHA)
