Turkish coast guard rescues 76 irregular migrants off Izmir coast
The Turkish Coast Guard Command has successfully rescued 76 irregular migrants, including 16 children, who were found adrift in the Aegean Sea.
The migrants were located in two life rafts off the coast of Karaburun and Foça districts. Coast Guard teams responded to distress calls and carried out rescue operations in both areas.
A total of 49 irregular migrants, including 14 children, were rescued from the life rafts near Karaburun. In Foça, 27 irregular migrants, including 2 children, were rescued after their rubber boat's engine malfunctioned.
The rescued individuals were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. (ILKHA)
